I grew up on the same street as Steve. He was one of my best friends from the time I moved into the neighborhood in 3rd grade until after High School. Reading through the guest book I see that Steve retained his sense of humor and kindness which is how I remember him. Steve used to stand on the table in the school cafeteria and croon Tom Jones songs. He was one of the funniest guys I've ever known. For some reason I also remember that Steve was the only kid I knew who studied Latin. I am sorry to hear of your loss but I know he will live on in all of our memories.

I only worked with Steve for a short time, but he always had a way of making all of us at Empire Sports laugh. Just a great person to work with. Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.

I just heard yesterday about Steve from a mutual friend of ours. I cannot believe that someone so kind, funny and honest is really gone. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Steve, you were loved by so many, and will always be thought of with the biggest smile and greatest of memories. I'll miss you pal.

Whenever anyone of us at Empire was having a bad day, it was always nice to hear that Steve just arrived. He was the kind of guy that can boost any ones spirit with a funny joke or comment. He was a great father, and a great friend to all of us who were lucky enough to have known him.

Lyn, I just found out today, and I'm utterly heartbroken for you and the boys. I would not have missed the funeral had I known in time. I only knew Steve by working with him on the video he produced on my late Uncle Steve (Dr. Noyes). What a pleasure it was to work with him--especially during the painfully difficult editing process. I'll always remember his kindness and patience. Lyn, you and the boys have my deepest sympathy, and I'm here for you. Don't hesitate to call. Remember what Steve said about me: "You can't say "no" to Kelly." So please, please let me help. All my love, Kelly

Steve was special, there's no question about that. When I got the e-mail that he was gone, it hit me hard.

Steve was one of the many people who helped make Empire Sports a great place to work. He was outstanding at what he did, but he was far better at being a guy who could find humor in some of the worst situations.

We might have been doing a Fan TV Night-time show that wasn't even seen in our neighborhood -- but had to go out to everyone east of Batavia, since they weren't allowed to get our Raptors' broadcasts. Even though we were dominating the cable ratings in Solvay, Steve kept us laughing -- and that was important for all of us in that studio!

He was always ready to grab a camera and jump in the car to "go to Scotty's [Bowman's] house" and get a quote or two. He was especially good at suggesting we do just that when nothing whatsoever was going on.

My sincerest condolences to Lyn and the boys -- and to all of us, who have lost a good friend.

Dear Lyn and family,

We were extremely saddened to learn that Steve had died so young and so suddenly. Karen Gajewski e-mailed us with the news and we phoned Pat Pliss to possibly learn more. But Pat had gotten behind in her newspaper reading and didn't know about it. Since we didn't phone her until this evening, after the funeral, Pat didn't learn in time to attend. She wishes she could have been there for you--which expresses our wishes as well. You are in our thoughts and we will always miss Steve's great sense of humor.

With you in spirit,

Mary and Fred Edwords

My deepest sympathy to Steve's family at this difficult time. I was very saddened to hear of Steve's passing. Like many others I knew Steve through my days working at Adelphia. Steve was not only one of funniest people I ever met but simply the kindest. He has touched us all through his humor and his extended family (those of us who worked with Steve over the years) will miss him terribly. To Steve's family May your faith carry you through this difficult time. May we remember Steve by making someone laugh today or just putting a smile on someone's face like he did for us. Goodbye "G" I'll miss you.

I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. I knew Steve to be, like myself, a big fan of the Philadelphia Flyers and a very funny man with a very hearty laugh. I am very, very fortunate that our paths crossed. Please accept, on behalf of the many co-workers lives that Steve touched, our sincerest thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. Steve was such a character to work with at Empire Sports. He could always see the humor (and the ridiculous) in everyday life and was a pleasure to work with. No matter how bad the day was going, you could count on a laugh from Steve. He will be missed by many.

It is always hard to comprehend the reality of news such as this when one receives it. There's a place in your heart that refuses to believe such a tragedy could happen to someone so kind and full of cheer. Tragic most of all is knowing that the memories we hold dear of Steve today will be the only ones we'll ever know. Though my experiences with him were brief, the memories I have of Steve always bring a smile to my face, and it saddens me to know that this is all we have left.

My sincerest heart-felt condolences to his family and friends on this sad and painful loss. May his memory live on in all of us.

I just received the news very early this morning from a friend, and was saddened by the early morning phone call.

I worked with Steve at Adelphia-Niagara for several years, and it was always fun to work with him. He was very creative (i.e. commercial parodies he used to produce) and always made everyone laugh, and made it fun to come into work.

Lyn, Daniel & Benjamin, please know you had a wonderful husband & father who touched the hearts of anyone who knew him. May God bless you during this difficult time.

it's been a privelege and an honor for me to work with a gentleman like Steve for the past 11 years, both at Adelphia and at Time Warner. Steve always had a way of making tough situations easier, of finding the joy in difficult spots, and of bringing a humorous and always-appreciated manner to our times together. I already miss "Brother Steve" immensely and offer my heartfelt condolences and prayers...Steve was a wonderful man. Indeed our days are like the grass...bloom forever, friend.

I worked with Steve at Adelphia Local Origination. Some of my fondest memories are when he would make us all smile and laugh no matter how tired we were. There we so many times that Rick Karnath (our boss) laughed so hard he literally cried! I know in my heart right now he is making St. Peter and the angels laugh so hard they are crying along with our tears of sorrow.

I am so sorry for your loss, I had the great privilege of knowing Steve and working with him during my years at the Niagara Falls Convention Center. I always looked forward to seeing him, because he would always have a great story. And could always be counted on to make you smile. And he was a great professional to boot. A wonderful man. May your friends and family be a source of strength for you.

Though I only knew Steve for a few years, I quickly developed a closeness to him through his love of music and because he was such a warm person. To his family... I am so sorry to hear this news.
I know that no words can make you feel better in this difficult time, but remember that Steve had many friends and many people loved and will miss him greatly.
I am just one of those people.

My deepest and sincerest sympathies to the Leopold family, and to the extended family of all those who had the privilege of knowing Steve... Few are those that leave an impression on others that is cherished and revered... the good spirits and laughs that Steve provided us all will forever remind us of the smiles he brought to everyone... while the time is now to share the sorrow of his passing... let us not grieve his loss... but be thankful for the fortunate blessings we had with him as a part of our lives... We will miss you Steve... but you will always be treasured and loved with a smile in our hearts... God Bless...

When Steve and I worked together at the Empire Sports Network, I knew that he would make me smile at least a couple times each day. Whether he was doing his British accent or dropping in a joke from the audio booth, Steve was a gentle man who had a quick wit and a good heart. He was versatile and fun and a pleasure to know. I last saw Steve two months ago at Time Warner and we laughed while we reminisced about the old days. May you rest in peace, Steve, and guide your family from above.
With deepest condolences,
Brenda
