How very saddened and shocked I was to hear of Jims passing. Lisa I was just speaking of you and Jim. It seems like only yeasterday that we all started in the family of Marks. There are a few of us left from back 20 years. It is always a great loss to lose a friend mentor and a great human being. Our prayers are with you all. God Bless.

It is difficult for me to find words that express the sorrow that I am feeling for you during this tragic time. I hope that you will find comfort in all of the wonderful memories that you have of Jim.
He was truly a wonderful man. He touched so many of us with his drive, determination, infectious laugh and the twinkle of his eye. His spirit will live on.

There are no words that can express the sadness we are feeling at Jim's loss. I had the pleasure and good fortune of calling Jim not only my boss but my mentor and friend for many years. He was a true visionary and pushed us to accomplish things we didn't know or think we were capable of because Jim always knew the true potential of an individual. He also made work fun which was vital and allowed us the freedom to grow and learn in a safe but challenging environment. Jim was fiercely protective of his employees and those he cared about. We will keep not only his smile but his wisdom and genuine kindness in our hearts. My thoughts and prayers go out to Pat, Kirstin, Brittany, Traci, Stephanie and the rest of Jim's family and friends but know that he lives on through all those he touched in a deep and profound way. The world is a much brighter place for having had Jim in it. We'll miss you my friend.

I learned of Jim's death only today while I was at work. I was shocked and deeply saddened. I had the pleasure of working with Jim for many years. We always laughed so much and shared our passion for hockey. Jim's big smile and contagious laugh will be missed by so many people. Heaven's gain today is our heart felt loss. I have been greatly influenced by Jim. He believed in me, and shared my belief that all that we do is "about the people". He was a great leader, wonderfully supportive, and was truly one of the most inspirational people I have ever met. I truly looked up to him. I will never forget you Jim, I still look up to you and know you are among the Angels and are watching over all of us. Every time I make a snow angel, I will think of you. I was surprised to see a familiar smile in the newspaper today. I worked with Jim at Mark’s for a few years, starting at the old Airways location in Calgary 21 years ago.
The company was relatively young and so were we. We were both in the mist of starting our families and working darn hard, all the time having a lot of laughs.
Jim received a lot of ribbing from the males in the company as he managed, for the majority of the time, a bunch of women (we were always in a good mood … lol)
We always knew when Jim had, had enough of us when we would find him hiding on the “boot deck” mindlessly fixing laces.
You have left way to young Jim, but what ever your next assignment is, bring your smile and say hi to the “Big” guy.

Words cannot convey the immeasurable loss that you must feel. I knew Jim for only five years but he had a visceral impact on my life professionally and personally. I'm left with so many good memories. Jim's passion was offset by his compassion and humanity. He never failed to ... well, he never failed it seemed.
I pray that God would wrap his arms around you and bring you peace. I pray that you are comforted by the knowledge that God's grace is sufficient and covered Jim and covers you during this hard time.

Jim was such a excellent person to work with. Always an encouraging word, and always a positive attitude. He believed in himself and also encouraged others to do the same.
I truly appreciate my association with him and his influence as a friend. As a ship leaves one shore and sails to another. We wave goodbye to loved ones, and they are greeted by others who have gone before on distant shores. We wave goodbye for a short time in life to Jim, only to be greeted when it is our turn to take that same future journey. We will miss Jim but are grateful for his good life.
