Rick Hundal Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from May 31 to Jun. 1, 2008.

HUNDAL Rick March 31, 1950 - May 28, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce Rick's sudden passing on May 28, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife Rosemary, children Patrick (Beth), Mike, Evelyn (Pete) and Chenier. He is also survived by his mother Ranjit, brother Paul (Anne) and sisters Kitty and Kanval (Ian) and large extended family. Rick will be missed by the printing and paper industry in Western Canada, where he was an important contributer for 40 years. Rick was a lifetime Lynn Valley resident and will forever remain in memory skiing the local mountains, hiking in Lynn Canyon and enjoying his favourite pastime; family backyard barbeques on beautiful summer days. Rick will always be remembered as the person who brought the family together. He was a happy, kind and loving person who will be forever missed and loved by all. Please contact First Memorial Funeral Services (North Vancouver - 604 980 3451) for dates and times of memorial services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kiva, an organization close to Rick's heart. Kiva lets you lend to a specific entrepreneur in the developing world - empowering them to lift themselves out of poverty - www.kiva.org

Dear Rosemary and Family,
I just found the email from Missy regarding Rick. Such a shock. Yesterday Tim Russert, TV, Meet The Press, died at 58 from a heart atttack while at work.
We will certainly miss Rick at the family reunions, he was always such a happy and pleasent person. It was such a privilage to know him

To the family
I received a phone call, from Norm Poulin, last night, informing me of Ricks passing. I went to school with Rick and had not seen him in many years, but the photo you publish, he looks the same as he did in high school. Sorry for your loss, he was a great guy. Leslie Miller (Sim) Kelowna. B.C.

With deepest sympathy, it saddens me to hear of the loss of such a great and truly ultruistic person as Rick. From my far memories of growing up in North Vancouver with Rick and living with the family, who took me under their wing and supported me with open arms as part of the family, is a treasure that has always been in my soul. Mrs Ranjeet Hundal and family, Paul, Kitty and Kuval, I am with you in your moments of sorrow. Rosemary, only in brief encounters, I remember you as the most inspiring partner Rick could ever have wanted to share his life with. Thankyou for being his soulmate.

Kindest Regards,

Ken Kalturnyk
