Beloved wife of Hatem Al-Shwayat; dearest daughter of Maureen and the late Donald Voss; loving sister of Ryan (Jennifer) Voss and Shannon (Javier) Puentes; loving niece of Frank and Marie Sippel; aunt of many nieces and nephews. I did not know her personally, but after reading all the many tributes to her character on Visa Journey I was weeping. She must have been a wonderfull friend, and confidant. And may Allah give her peace as well as comfort to her husband.

Dawn meant the world to so many people. She and I met online but grew to be so close. I would have given anything to have been able to be there today to offer my support to the families that knew Dawn the best. My struggle to bring my husband here was tough but she was one of the first people in VisaJourney to reach out to me and offer her kind words and assistance.
I have signed the book twice but this time is for my husband. He wants to send his condolances to the family.

I wish I had gotten to know Dawn better, but I do remember how positive and helpful she was to everyone going through the same visa journey that she and Hatem had to go through. My heart is so sad that she was taken away from her beloved so quickly, and I can only imagine the pain her family must be feeling right now. I pray that Dawn's friends and family find the strength to get through this tough time and learn to lean on each other. I hope this tragedy leads to deeper love and a closer bond between Dawn's loved ones, because I'm sure that's how she would want it.
I hope Hatem recovers from his injuries and that he knows how much Dawn loved him. There are many of us around the world thinking of you and praying for you right now. Rest in peace, Dawn.

Although never having the pleasure of meeting Dawn in person, I did have the pleasure of befriending her online. Kind, patient, caring and honest are a few of the words that come to mind. Dawn was a support to many of us going through visa issues/awaiting reuniting with our spouses. Taken too soon, but never forgotten. To her husband and family, may God keep you.
