ROSEMARY McGRAIL

Rosemary McGrail, nee Rudd, 76, of River Forest died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She was a mother of six children; grandmother of 20; great-grandmother of two; beloved wife of 52 years to John; beloved mother of Patricia (John Keefe) McGrail, Mary Jean (Bill) Walsh, Joanne (Mike) Friel, John (Shelley), Jennifer (Alex) Falconer and James (Amy); dear grandmother of Jessica and Adam Schleimer, Colleen, Kathleen, Erin, Jennifer and Jimmy Walsh, Ryan and Jordyn Friel, Josh (Denise) Caldwell, Jeremy McGrail, Justin Caldwell, Joseph and Molly McGrail, Kees, Owen and Jack Falconer, Anna and Patrick McGrail; loving great-grandmother of Hailey and Caleb Caldwell; dear aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Terence Harold and Mae, nee Mahoney, Rudd; sisters, Jane Moritz and Rita McGibbon, brother Thomas Rudd and grandson Mathhew McGrail. Rosemary was a Chicago native born and raised in the Austin-West Garfield park neighborhood, prior to moving to Oak Park in 1958 and River Forest in 1968. While raising her children Rosemary worked at Marshall Field's department store and O'Connor's Cleaners and Furriers. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister and hospitality volunteer at the St. Luke's church in River Forrest. Rosemary was a avid Cubs fan. Her family and close friends affectionately referred to Rosemary as "RO-RO". Funeral service Wednesday 10:15 a.m. from the Peterson-Bassi Chapels, 6938 W. North Ave., Chicago to St. Luke Church, River Forest, for 11 a..m. Mass. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation Tuesday, 3 to 9 p.m. at the Peterson-Bassi Chapel.
