Bernard G. McDermott, returned to the Lord on May 3, beloved husband of Barbara; loving father of Susan (Keith) Hall, Dan and Jim; the loving son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (McShane); and cherished brother of the late Mary (Jim) Grund, late Daniel (Nancy), late Alice (Ed) McCorkell, Frank (Mary), late Theresa, Joan and Hugh (Kathleen); Papa of Shane and Michael Hall; loving uncle to many nephews and nieces. Visitation Sunday, 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral Monday, 9 a.m., from the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th St., Crestwood, to Incarnation Church for a 9:30 a.m. Mass. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Air combat vet awarded the DFC and Air Medal with 11th AAF-404th BS/28th BG, Shemya Aleutians. Former trustee, Village of Chicago Ridge, past commander American Legion 1160 and VFW 177. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Williams Syndrome Association. To the Family of Bernie,
Couldn't make the wake or funeral, we wish you our condolences and prayers. Will miss him, have known Bernie for some 10 yrs, with the VFW Post 177, sorry to hear of his passing. GOD Bless you and we will meet Bernie once again with the LORD's Blessing.
