Al taught me so many things when I was a boy growing up in Chicago. He taught me electronics, chess, tennis, music (Sinatra in particular), how to drive, how to build a radio from scratch, and the Chicago Bears. He taught me about the importance of sharing what one knows and how to be fair-minded. I miss Al more than I can say. He was my first, best teacher.

I knew Al from the Metro Amateur Radio Club and I appreciated his kind and low key help on radio problems and his positive attitude. 73, Al de W9LUO
