Beloved wife of the late Eugene J.; fond daughter of the late Fred and Celia Wassman; dear sister of the late Walter (the late Elsa and the late Paula) Wassman, and the late Eleanor (the late Jerome) Lawrence; sister-in-law of the late Gertrude (the late Jack) Liesz, the late Evelyn (the late Rudolph) Henderson and the late Howard (Adeline) Schilling; loving aunt of the late Fred (Catherine) Lawrence, the late William (Rose) Lawrence, the late Walter (Mary Ann) Wassman, Gloria Sterling, Richard (the late Helene) Wassman, Richard Liesz, Thomas (Pam) Liesz, James Liesz, Joseph Schilling, and Linda Dekker; great and great-great aunt of many. Visitation Tuesday, from 3 p.m. until time of service, 7:30 p.m. at Bormann Funeral Home, 1600 Chicago Ave., Melrose Park. I loved Irene Schilling. I knew her from my years of working for the Village and Veterans Park District. Always smiling, always kind, always happy to see me. I will never, ever forget seeing her at Kiddieland on the day it closed to the public. It captured everything I always thought about Irene--she loved life. I'll miss her.
