Melda had a lot of admirers, for the way she got around to all her activities, always there when she said she would be there, always smiling. We have missed her these last few months. God bless Melda as she blessed us.

A fond farewell to my friend Melda, who was always the first arrival in church with a cheery greeting for everybody. I'll treasure her special wink to me from her spot in the first row when she liked the music! We had lots of great conversations in our rides to and from St. John's.

We will miss Melda's personality, her relentless vigor and most of all, her unabashed love of all things purple!
May she rest in peace.

The people of St. John's are so sorry to lose our Melda, a faithful, beautiful, and dedicated friend. We will miss her purple accessories, her egg salad, her care for others, and her musical cards.

I know I speak for Jean's many friends and co-workers when I express my sincere condolences to the entire Starkey family on this loss. Eternal life grant unto her, O Lord, and may her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace, throught the mercy of God.
