She was an incredibly kind and compassionate woman who brought a special warmth to the 500 black of South Kenilworth. You are all in my thoughts.

Dear husband and children of Suzanne,
Knowing the great sense of loss upon the passing of my own Mother years ago I like to share these passages form the book of Proverbs sent to me at that time:
"Many are the women of proven worth,

but you have excelled all."

Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting;

the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Give her a reward of her labors and let

her works praise her at the city gate.

"Her children rise up and praise her;
her husband.too extols her.

God be with you all and let no sadness remain with you.Celebrate a life lived in God's way. The wonderful children she gave life to are her final reward Rejoice. Love,
Phil Smith

Dear Gene and family,
Sue was the 'seasoned' mom when I was a young mom at Ascension. She was one of those legends that transcended two generations with her older and younger kids-providing love, support and realistic common sense advice to us young moms. I so enjoyed alumni meetings with Gene and the gang in the kitchen of your home with the refridgerator from a store that all of us coveted. Sue's home was a reflection of her-loving, warm and welcoming. We hope that you can find comfort in each other in your grief-she was so proud of her family and loved you all so! We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. The Waldron Family

Kunkel Family,
Although I was closest to the "first family", I remember the fun all had in that house. I am so sorry that I cannot be a part of the next couple of days, but work prevents me from making the trek. Please accept my condolences, especially Gene and Jean. Suzie is up there with Joan and Pat, so she's in good company. I have nothing but the fondest memories of many sleepovers and playing in the afternoons, after school at Ascension. Best wishes for the next days and weeks. I am so sorry.

Mrs Kunkel (Sue) was a wonderful woman. My brother John and I knew most of the family, Bob being one of our best friends. We met on the first day of first grade, and walked to school together through high school.

She was warm, inviting, caring and always had time for Bob's friends even though they had 8 of their own. I saw her last at my Mom's funeral, and I am so glad I did.

Bob, Jean, Tom, etc you all know how great she was. You should know so many others thought so too.

Rest easy Sue.

You are all in outr prayers.

Dear Kunkel family,
I was very saddened to hear of your mother's/wife's passing. My heart aches for all of you. Mrs Kunkel was like everyone's "second mom" amongst the Kenilworth gang. We were ALL always welcomed in your home with a kind and genuine smile. She often made us laugh with very funny, sarcastic remarks of some sort. I can remember times when you're house and yard were filled with kids from all over and she seemed to enjoy the chaos! (Perhaps eight was not enough sometimes!) She will be sorely missed!
I hope you find comfort in the memories you have, and the many funny stories and memories that will be related to all of you over the coming days and weeks.
While earth has lost a lovely, kind and generous woman, Heaven has a new angel, and a GREAT one at that!
My love, prayers and sympathies,
Cyndy Ritchie Szustak

God bless you all. Heaven has a new angel today.

Kunkels,
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Your mom was truly one of a kind. I will hold the fond memories of cocktail hours out on the back porch in her favorite spot dearly in my heart. Also, the Thanksgiving that I recieved the privilage to be a Kunkel for the day will remain one of the best ever. May you find comfort in all the stories and remembering all of her words of wisdom. Her legacy lives on in each one of you and all those wonderful grandchildren. Love all of you.
XOXO,
