Sorry to learn of Jim's death. He was a great guy.I'll never forget when Paul Rudolph and I had to talk Jim into calling this girl(Judy)he was always talking about, but was afraid to ask her out.It was after a home game in 1960 that he did; and who would have guessed it would be true love and lead to marriage.See once Jim was a shy guy.We had many great times together;he will be missed by family and friends.

JB: We had a great time at Silsby Lake Lodge in Canada two years ago. This year we will be dedicating a new fishing bay as "Burda's Bay" and christening it with an ounce or two of "Grants". Thanks for the memories....I will catch that trophy northern for you this year.

Dear Burda Family,
I remember Jim from his days with Allstate at Sears Roebuck located at North and Harlem. I was in retail sales and got to know Jim pretty well. He was a man's man always ready with a handshake and his patented smile. He was a great guy who always
had a good word and a positive attitude. I wish I had gotten to know him better. Our last encounter was having a beer with him and Jerry Ratigan about 40 years ago. I'm sure that our merciful Lord welcomed him home with open arms and a pro putter. Everyone I know loved Jim.
My sincere condolence,
Dick Wermich

Dear Burda family,
I was a sophomore on the 1961 Weber High School football team. I remember Jim fondly: a rugged, no-nonsense, all-state running back, a classy, spirited team mate. I will remember him in my personal prayer and in prayer at mass, especially this Sunday.

Weber HS Alum, 1960. Live in Boston area for nearly 40 years. Haven't been to or around Chicago for nearly 50 years. But remember Jim, 2 years behind me on football team. But I remember, Jim. What does that tell you about Jim Burda?

Jim left way too soon. He was a easy man to like, and always made me smile. It saddens me that a person with so much life and love to give has to leave so early. God Bless The Burda Family!

We have great memories with the Burda family, Jim was a great friend and we will miss him dearly. I don't know if I ever thanked him enough for buying all my fund raising calendars at Weber HS or providing insurance for me when no one else would or getting me a summer job with a beer distributor that became my career. Jim was all heart and I can't remember a time that I didn't smile or laugh when I was near him. I am very lucky to have had him in my life for it was so much better with him there. We love you Jim and we will never forget you!

Dear Judy and Family,
I am truly saddened to have read about Jim's passing on the Chicago Tribune Internet today. I enjoyed working with Jim at the lobby Allstate booth at Sears Harlem-North. We had many good times there and on the golf course. And I was honored by him asking me to join him when he left Allstate.
