Always enjoyed going to their home in Skokie, and Dr. Giannasi was so nice, met him through Lori at Regina.
I am sure he is missed. You were blessed to have such a wonderful family. Because of my experiences at their farm in Woodstock, I now have a farm in Indiana. They changed my life forever!

The Giannasi family can be proud of their father for the lives he touched and saved. He born all four of our children and was there for us in emergencies. We often refer to him when discussing medical care. He will be long remembered,

You have our deepest sympathy on the death of your father. He was the best. He delivered me, took care of my parents and siblings. He was also the only one to listen when my husband was sick and he made sure all the right tests were done. He diagnosed him with cancer and got him to the best doctors. He is alive 30+ year later because of Dr. G. I was just going to send out my late Christmas letter to him and was looking for his address and unfortunately found his obit instead. He is a great loss to all of you.

Dear Carol Lou, I remember your family from the early 60's when we were in high school, I smile with pleasure the little time that I was able to be a small but memorable part of that brief period in time. What a great family, I'm sorry for your loss.

To the entire Giannasi family: My mother brought Dr. Giannasi into our lives when she was a young mother with a sick child in the early 1950s. Following a house call, he recognized that the child had a case of streptococcal pharyngitis and treated her promptly with complete recovery. He became our family physician and went on to treat not just the body, but the spirit, as well. My parents and I adored him. He attended my wedding 30 years ago and we have charming pictures of him dancing with the bride. I went on to become a physician, not in small part, by his example. He was a treasure and my mother, Harriet Schneider who is alive and well at 89, and I will miss him very much. Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss. He will always have special place in our hearts.

Gigi and the entire Giannasi family, my wife Yvonne and I send our deepest sympathy in the loss of your Father. He saved my life in 1951 when I was 6 months old. While one doctor diagnosed me with allergies, your Father had me admitted to the hospital with double pneumonia. He was my doctor from that day on. He later became my wife, Yvonne's doctor. He treated us well. He even had us over to his home to visit.

Our deepest sympathy to your entire family. I will never forget when my husband was sick very late at night and had to be at work the next morning. We called Dr. Giannasi and he said if he can get to my house in Skokie tonight, I will take care of him. We did, he took care of him and he was well the next morning in time for work. He was a rare Doctor. There has been no one like him. He treated our whole family for several generations. He will be truly missed.

I started work for Dr. G.right out of h.s. It wasn't long before I wanted to quit. My parents made me stay. My mom had been a nurse and told me Dr. G. deserved my respect no matter how strict a boss he was. They said working for him would build character,
and although I don't know if that's been true,I know I'll never forget my years there, working at the office with my friend Barbara.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Your dad was a character himself. He was one of a kind.

To all the Giannasi family my memories of your Father are forever warm in my mind and heart. I remember him making house calls to our home and mending my broken wrist right in the second floor office on Oakton. No need to go the ER Dr. G was right downtown. I am sure he will be visiting my Brother Jimmy. God bless Dr Giannasi.

Dearest Jeanne, Johnny, Carol Lou, Lori, Betty Ann, GiGi & Dino..... Wow, I'm not sure what words could describe how I'm feeling, let alone how you are feeling. Your dad was an icon. He touched so many lives. He had an amazing family. One of the kindest, most gentle men I ever knew, especially when he was giving a little girl a shot of penicillin. I wish I could be with you all for the service, to say goodbye and pay my respects, but it isn't probable. Please know you will all be in my thoughts and prayers for a long time to come.

Peace, Love & Blessings

Dr. Giannasi was the best "all-around" Dr. I ever had. I referred to him as a "one stop Dr" who could do it all. There was never a need to go to a "specialist", because he was a "specialist of the best kind". I once told him he "never should have retired", and he gave me that sweet smile and a "thank you". Godspeed, Sweet Lou!

my thoughts and prayers to the family

Donna Klos

May 12, 2011

Dr. Giannasi was a very important part of my family's life since we moved to Skokie in 1953. He was our primary doctor since I was seven years old. He delivered my first child, and three more children later, was still our doctor for all four children, plus my husband and myself. He was always with us through every crisis with the kid's. Later in life when my parents were in failing health, and could no longer get up the stairs to the office, Dr. Giannasi would come to their house to check on them.
He has and always will hold a very special place in our hearts.
There was no one like the "Doc".
