ELIZABETH LAURENCE Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Laurence, 70, of Huntley, died peacefully at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Rd., Huntley. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Rd., Huntley. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY, 10016, http://www.kidney.org/ support/donation_form.pdf. Elizabeth was born Dec.30, 1940, the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Murphy) McGroarty. On April 15, 1961, she married Thomas J. Laurence. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Laurence of Huntley; her four children, Daniel T. (Karen) Laurence of Crystal Lake, IL, Kevin J. (Lynn) Laurence of Minocqua, WI, Maribeth (Francis) Fagan of Frankfort, IL, Michele (John) Jakubowksi of Powell, OH; her 11 grandchildren, Tim, John, Delaney, Katie, Emily, Michael, Maggie, Conor, Patrick, Jack and Mia; she is also survived by one brother, Michael (Greta) McGroarty. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Patrick and John.
