Eleanor M. Georgalas, nee Trella. Beloved wife of James; loving mother of Jim (Karen), Ted (Peggy) and Irene (late Michael) James; proud grandmother of Nick, Mike, Daniel and Jimmy; dear sister of the late Bruno (Stella) Trella and the late Irene (late Arthur) Albert; sister-in-law of Andrew (Elsa) Georgalas; fond aunt of Alan, Jack and Stacey. Present treasurer of Philoptochos Society of Assumption Church and former Congressional staff member. Visitation Wednesday, May 18, 2011, 3 to 9 p.m., Cumberland Funeral Home, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Family and friends will meet Thursday morning at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 601 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, 60644. for services at 10:30 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Assumption Church appreciated. "YaYa" "Eleanor" or simply "Mrs G"...was a wonderful woman who was generous with her time, talents and love. Always energetic and adventurous, even when she could slow down, she didn't. All of us have witnessed her humility and service to others. I loved Mrs G, and I believe that she will be missed by all who knew her.

Our prayers to you on Eleanor's passing. I thought often of Eleanor as I worked on the dozens of boxes from the congressional office Dad stowed at home after retiring. His passing in July 2010 brought back memories of the days working in Klu's office at summer break, Eleanor keeping things running smoothly. She was a wonderful person...

Our hearts ache at the loss of Eleanor. It always brought a smile to our faces when we would see Eleanor and Jim at every church festival. She will be greatly missed. We send our love and sympathy to Jim and her family. They were blessed to have her in their lives.
