ANN YOUNG Obituary

Ann Young, 93, of Chicago, died Sunday, May 15. She was born May 12, 1918, in Chicago, to Edward and Mary (Peterson) Brink. She was a graduate of Schurz High School. Ann married Robert H. Young on October 4, 1941. Easy to laugh, a sharp wit, exuberant personality, the "gift of gab," devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, excellent cook, loyal friend, lover of crossword puzzles and crocheting, an eager traveler, and a fan of the Cubs are among the many ways her friends would describe her. She was a long-time and very active member of Faith Lutheran Church. Ann was a member of the Portage Park Arrows, Hitch School PTA, the Taft High School Parents Club, and several senior clubs. She was employed at Siegel's Department Store and SM&R Company. Ann is survived by two sons, Robert (Carol) of Ripon, WI, and Jock (Mary Kay) of Fox River Grove, IL; four grandchildren, Mindy, Scott (Jennifer), Jeffrey (Khloe), and Bradley (Dawn); seven great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years; six brothers; and one sister. In addition to her loving family, she was blessed with many devoted friends who provided her with support, comfort and love. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Dear Family:

I just learned of the recent passing of your mother. I am deeply saddened over your loss. Your mother was so kind and I truly am sorry for your loss.

I still remember when my son (Gary) would call (Robert) Butcher when they were young. I have no idea why my son referred to you by that name. Your mother and I would always laugh when we heard that.

Again, I am truly sorry for your loss.
