Alvin A. "Al" Lichner (Lichnerowicz), age 86, longtime of Tinley Park, U.S. Army Veteran, WWII Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Loving Husband of Jo Ann, nee Cline, and the late Marjorie, nee Kendle, former husband of Renee, nee Kunzmann; loving father of Georgia Lichner, Anthony (Linda), Kenneth (Kathryn), Nancy (William) England, Steven (Ellen), Diane Lichner, Tracy (Michael) Pierce and the late Janice; stepfather of James Cline, Victoria Crump and Edward (Beth) Cline; dear grandfather of Robert, Jeffery, Lauryn, Kathryn, Scott, Neal, Marjorie and Sally; step-grandfather of Stephanie, Madison, Ashley, Sarah and Bryce; brother of Renetta (late Stanley). Gajownik Visitation Monday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Van Henkelum Funeral Home, 13401 S. Ridgeland Ave., Palos Heights (located in Westgate Commons Plaza). Funeral home prayer services Tuesday, 9:15 a.m. to St. Damian Church Mass 10 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Military Honors 12:30 p.m., Tuesday. My deepest sympathy to the Lichner family. Alvin was my second cousin my father was Norm Kaiser I remember Alvin and family visiting Michigan City for family gatherings at my Bushia Kaiser's house as well as trips we made to South Chicago I will keep you all in my prayers my mother Florence sends her condolence also ! Sorry we are unable to attend the service.

Sending our sincerest sympathy and condolences to the Lichner family. Alvin was my second cousin on my Mother's side and I can recall many visits he and his family made to Michigan City years ago to my Grandmother's home with fond memories. We also send our deepest regrets that we will be unable to attend the funeral services. Our hearts and prayers will be with his family and friends.
