BERNICE HANISKO

Bernice Hanisko, age 92, of Oswego, IL died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Hines VA Hospital in Maywood, IL. She was born March 27, 1919, in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Leo and Anna, nee Budgerina, Shvegzda. Bernice attended Morton High School in Cicero, IL. Following business college, she began working for People's Gas & Light Co. in Maywood, IL. She trained as a cashier in their many suburban offices and became a service representative for their newly opened store in Brookfield, IL. Bernice served her country honorably with the US Navy during World War II. She worked in the personnel office at Great Lakes and achieved the rank of Pharmacist's Mate First Class. She was a member of Our Lady of Charity Catholic Church in Cicero, IL and worked for Rockwell International for 10 years prior to her retirement in 1966. Preceded in death by husband Paul Hanisko and daughter Laurel Kelly. Survived by daughter Amy Biank and grandchildren Ann Campbell and husband Brian, John Biank and wife Amanda, Patrick Kelly and wife Beth, Lana Kelly and fiancée Kevin; as well as great-grandchildren Jetti and Grayden Biank. Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERALHOME at 1801 South Douglas Road in Oswego, IL.
