It's October and I just learned of Kurt's passing. As a customer in his store, I met him just once a long time ago. Funny how how such a brief encounter can leave a lasting memory. But I guess that was just Kurt being himself. Goodbye my friend.

I just learned of Kurt's passing. He was always so encouraging when I stopped by. A more caring, loving musician you'll never find. The world is much worse off with him not here.

Kurt knew how to live life, he truly was 85 years young to his last days. He was one of best friends I've ever had. He shared his wisdom and wit with me over the past 30 years. He loved to tell the same jokes over and over and I think he did it on purpose to tease me. One of my favorite memories is when I told Kurt a very off-color joke, and he laughed so hard he bounced between several pianos and nearly fell down. He lives forever in our hearts and the work we do with pianos.

Mr. Kurt Saphir was such a great gentleman that I can never forget. I can never forget his smile and voice. He was such a person that you remember him forever if you saw his once. I am just one piano customer and not familiar with the Kurt family, but their great customer service always gives me deep impression. The passing of Mr. Kurt Saphir really made me feel so painful. I will never hear his voice again when I make a piano tuning appointment in the future, thinking of this is such a pain. Mr. Kurt Saphir will be greatly missed; he will be forever living in the hearts of his family, friends and customers.

Kurt was a great teacher who could say more and use fewer words than anyone else I knew. He contributed a great deal of wisdom, as well as his personal time, to helping me become the piano technician that I now am. I also admire the way he stood for doing what is right. He is missed!

Kurt Saphir was my boss, and my friend. I came to Kurt Saphir pianos 22 years ago as a piano technician and saw Mr. Saphir on a weekly basis. We would always spend time talking about everything under the sun. He was a kind, loving man and a great boss. May he find joy and peace in heaven.
