CLAIRE LACOCQUE

Claire Lacocque, née Tournay, 83, passed away last Monday, Memorial Day, after long years of suffering. She was born in Belgium in 1928. Married to Andre Lacocque, well published scholar in Hebrew Scriptures. She taught French at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools for 23 years. She taught Religion in Belgium, French in Jerusalem and in Chicago. She also ministered to her husband's parish in Alsace, France for several years. Visitation will be 10 a.m., funeral following at 11 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2011 in Graham Taylor Chapel at the Chicago Theological Seminary, 5757 S. University. In lieu of flowers, donations be given to The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, Director's Office, 1362 E. 59th Street, Chicago, IL 60637, with the name Claire Lacocque noted, so that funds will be placed in the Eliade Endowment Fund.
