My brother, Irv, will surely be missed. He was a Christian man. I spoke to him everyday. He waited for my call, as I did his. We were very close when we were growing up as he had mentioned the day before he was hospitalized."I never want to make a decision unless I call you first. I trust your imput."
He, his wife Gladys, and I were Sunday School teachers for years during the time when Pastor Lams was there at Christ Lutheran Church in Oak Park, where we were faithful members.
Irv was in the Infantry and through him I met my husband, Elvis. We all met in Chicago and shortly after, Elvis and I were married in 1947.
Irv thought of my children as his, as well as our sister Charlotte & Hub's son, Richard. He was Judy's Godfather in 1954. Later he & Gladys joined the ranks as parents when they adopted Mark, who was my Godson. Mark grew up & married April. They had a sweet & caring daughter, Deadra, who was dearly loved by Irv, as well as us. She and her partner, Alice have continually been dedicated & wonderful caretakers of Irv, especially when April moved. He, along with us appreciated all their help.
He compiled and sent a book of his army life to Washington, D.C.
It was just learned it is in the Library Of Congress.
All in all he was a good, Christian and read his Bible daily, as well as he could due to his failing eyesight and sang along to the hymns he played on CD's.
I'm happy he was blessed with a full life. Now he is in heaven with His Lord.
I thank God we enjoyed him 91 years. His loving sister,

We will always remember the Christian man who was always dressed for "the occasion". He was strong in his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and lived his life that way through the end days. He always appreciated prayers and good wishes from friends and family. He was proud to have served in the army during WWII. As he lived, he saw many changes in the world. He enjoyed reminiscing and was a very proud & generous person who gave to many. We love him and will miss him. He was a terrific Godfather/Uncle and Great-Uncle to us. We remember Deadra & Alice in our prayers. Our love and sympathy,
