To Scott's family,
Please accept my condolences for the loss of your dear Father. I learned so much more about him from your lovely obituary. Thank you for writing about his life so beautifully.
I met your Father when I was hired at the Wheaton Post Office in 1972. He was a manager that I respected because he was so knowledgeable, and he was so fair. He held all of us to the same high standard.
I was sad when he retired, and as I moved on in my postal career, I thought of him often and would wonder how he was doing.
Years ago, my Dad and Scott, who didn't know one another, ended up in the waiting room of the old Suburban Buick dealership while they waited for their cars to be serviced. They started talking and realized they were both WWII veterans. When Scott said he had retired from the Wheaton Post Office, my Dad mentioned his daugher had worked there before moving to CO. in 1980. When Scott realized he knew me, he asked my Dad to have me contact him. I called and wrote and we stayed in touch sporadically to talk about the "good old days".
I was in Wheaton this last week, and decided to call him, as I just retired after 38 years of service and wanted to share this news with him. Regrettably and sadly, I found out that I had just missed his funeral.
Please forgive this lengthy entry but I do have such fond memories of the great man that was your Father.

Ron,
So sorry to learn today that you lost your father. This is a wonderful story of his life. My best to you and your family as you remember him as you knew him best. You're a great GE guy to work with and I'm sure his finest qualities have been instilled in you and your family over your life. Making it to 90 is impressive. Remember him well.

I've never met a member of Scott's family, but I've prayed for some of you! I first met Scott as one of the faithful few praying men that met every Tuesday morning at 7 AM at WEFC, for many years - just before he would go "...down to Streeter to see my sister". He was an exceptionally kind and dear man, with a fun sense of humor. Scott also served his Lord and his church as a door greeter for many years, even as he approached 90. We will miss his kind welcome at the East door, but rejoice with him as he meets his beloved Lord Jesus with no more pains!

Our deepest sympathy to you. We did not have the pleasure of knowing your father,
but knew of him - his dedication and service to the Lord. He was a wonderful example of faithfully serving God's people for so many years.
