Words cant express the emptiness I feel for having a person taken way too early. I miss Al every day. So many memories. The tears still fall heavy when I see something or hear something that reminds me of him. Ill never forget who he was & how his presence & friendship impacted my life. Its permanent & profound & difficult still to accept his absence....the remorse is exponentially made difficult because we had so many sayings & memories, songs we listened to, people we knew that not a day goes by that a thought of him gets past me because of all that we shared & experience........B-dude Ill miss u always & never stop loving what u meant to me & who u were to many....my best friend, wingman, my brother & my heart!!!!

Dear Fred and Family, I came into Columbia today looking for Alan and found out the news that he had passed away. I can't tell you how sorry I was to find that out. Alan was nice a nice guy and so great to work with. He was so supportive of our program and working with our students at Vaughn. He will be missed.

Alan: From the day that you proposed to my daughter you became the son I never had. I loved the personal talks that we would share with each other. If I ever needed help with anything, I could always count on you for the help or you would find someone who could. Melissa always said you were her soul mate and she loved you so much. Thank you for making her very happy even if it was for a short time. I will miss you with all my heart, but I know you are happy and not hurting anymore. My love to you always.

Alan, you were my cousin and I loved you. I will miss you every day of my life, but I will draw strength from all the wonderful memories of you. From a curly, blonde haired little boy, you grew to be a caring and loving husband. How can I compress 38 years of memories into one short note? You were always a joy to Emy and Gamp, Bet and Danny - to all of our family. I can just hear Gamp in Heaven saying to Emy, “Look, Little Haber is here!” I am so thankful to have attended your wedding day and then watch you and Melissa open your gifts the next day at your parent’s home.
We also shared a love of animals and I promise to contribute to my animal organizations in your honor. I’ll always think of you when I hear Kiss.
To Melissa, Penny, Fred, Brian, Dawn and all our family, I pray for strength, peace and acceptance.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5,6

No words can express my grief and sorrow over the loss of Alan (aka Little Heat). My heart goes out to you all. I know, though, that Alan is walking in Heaven with Jesus in a much more beautiful place, healthy and whole with his leg healed and sturdy again and he's waiting for us all to come join him soon. This isn't "good bye Heatster", it's just "see you soon". Love to you all.

I mourn the passing of a GREAT friend......a friend of 21 years! Al was like family to me, a brother I'll miss & cherish forever! He came about at a time in a persons life when most memories are made, in our 20's.....And the memories we created will follow me through the rest of my life. The times we had & the secrets we shared were many. His legacy will live in infamy in my mind & soul for a lifetime, He was more than a friend, he was a brother. He always gave of himself & was selfless & compassionate in every way. I'll find it hard to go on without his presence......Till we meet again......I LOVE U BUDDY

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Please know that we are so terribly sorry for your loss. Alan was such a special young man and I know he will be missed so much! I remember the time he and Dawn spent the night at our house and he had to sleep on the sofa and he was so tall even then that his feet hung over the end of the sofa but he never complained a bit. To all the family, we send our love, thoughts and prayers.
