FLORENCE MILLER Obituary

Florence F. Miller, nee Fricke, of Elmhurst, died April 9, 2011 at the age of 100. Florence was born Feb. 5, 1911 near Benton Harbor, MI the youngest child of Herman and Louise Fricke. She married Karl Miller of St. Joseph, MI in 1927. Due to lack of work during the depression, they relocated to Oak Park, IL where they lived and raised their family for 30 years. They then lived in Oak Brook, Hinsdale and Elmhurst for over 40 years. She was a kind, caring, gracious lady whose life was devoted to family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, hosting family gatherings and traveling the world with her husband of 65 years. She was active throughout her life in church and numerous community and volunteer organizations. She was a founding member of the Christ Church of Oak Brook. Beloved wife of the late Karl Julius Miller; loving mother of Marilyn (Bruce) Bell of Bethlehem, PA, the late Donald (the late Jean) Miller of Elmhurst, IL and Marcia (the late Ward) Fleming of Elmhurst, IL; adoring grandmother of Kathy (Don) Kahler, Barb Bell, Bruce Bell Jr., Don (Linda) Bell, Andy Bell, Ellen (Tom) Freda, Sam (Geryl) Miller, Mary (Tom) Uher, Judy (Chris) Balis, Gail (Dave) Ogdon, Mike (Karen) Fleming, Donna (John) Sweeney and Sally (Don) Soland; in addition to 20 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 31st and York Rd., Oak Brook, IL.
