Loving companion Steven Dorsey; dearly beloved daughter of Daniel and Mildred Kirsch; loving mother of Michael, Scott (Lindsay) and Thomas Emalfarb; beloved sister of Billy (Dawn) and Jimmy (Hedi) Kirsch; adored niece of Phyllis Shuman; cherished aunt of John, Courtney, Wil, Caroline, Kimberly, Theodore and Mallory; fond cousin of Pam Ross, Karen (Mark) Lowenstein and Jackie (Paul) Baker. I am stunned! My lasting recollection of Ellen will always be like a beautiful portrait that trancends time. Ellen had the uncanny ability to show genuine kindness to all those she came into contact with. This simple feat of pure joy and unconditional love was accomplished through her gift of simplicity of heart. I know that my heart as well as family members, friends from all corners of the country fortunate enough to have come into her presence, all wear a heavy heart today. May her light quide the way for those who mourn and grieve her passing.
