llija Bubalo Obituary
llija Bubalo, age 91, member of the legendary Serbian Resistance movement under the leadership of General Draza Mihailovich which fought on the side of the Allies during WWII and whose credited with rescuing many allied pilots shot down behind enemy lines. Loving husband of Joyce, nee Smith; proud father of Milan and Dani; and devoted grandfather of Alexandra and Dane. In memory also, of Ilija's parents, Milan and Janja Bubalo; sister Djuka; and brothers, Jovo, Dane, Bica, and Sava Bubalo. May Ilija's memory be eternal. Resting at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave., Monday 4 to 9 p.m. Pomen (wake service) 7:30 at chapel. Funeral Service Tuesday 11 a.m. at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church, 3062 W. Palmer Square. Dear Milan and family members of our late brother Ilija,
Please accept heartfelt sympathy from Stevan and myself.Be grateful to God that you had a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who was proud of his family. He served well his country when was called to defend his people during World War II. He was a good citizen of his new country and raised his children in the same spirit. He was a good Christian man, being loyal to his Church and safeguarding his faith, he inherited from his ancestors.
For all good deeds we believe the good Lord will reward him in His heavenly kingdom.
May his memory be eternal. Vjecnaja Pamjat.
My prayers for the repose of his soul.
