EUGENE KIKOEN Obituary

Eugene Lawrence Kikoen, "Gene," our beloved and cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal life on June 3, 2011 at the age of 79. He was surrounded by family, and was at peace. "Gene-o" as he was affectionately known to so many, was a gifted architect, designer, and artist. Later in life he was a successful buyer in the automotive products industry. Gene graduated from the University of Illinois/Champagne, where he met the love of his life Joan Alana Newman. "Joanie Babes" and Gene-o were blessed with 56 years of marriage, 4 children, and 3 grandchildren who will all deeply and dearly miss this most remarkable and loving man. Gene was a teacher, mentor, counselor, and best friend to all who were blessed to have known him. Gene is survived by his loving wife Joan Kikoen; devoted children Steven (Heidi) Kikoen, David (Rita) Kikoen, Susan (Moshe) Turner, James Kikoen; and adoring grandchildren Cameron Kikoen, Alexis Kikoen, and Michael Kikoen; loving sister Lorraine Krimsky and many; many other relatives and friends. I did not know him a long time, but during our few short meetings, I was quite impressed. His smile and the postive flow that reached out from him to others is memorable. May he rest in peace. .

My Father was truly a one-of-a-kind, remarkable man. He was an exemplary mentor and role model. He did an incredible job raising his 4 children along with my Mother and for that, I will be eternally grateful. Gene-o was at once funny, witty, charasmatic, intelligent, yet always ... first and foremost, caring. He truly cared about people - he was the most positive person I've ever known, and so creative. I think about you every day Dad. Your effect on the people you encountered was profound; the world will not quite be the same without you. Thank you Dad for everything you did for us. Love always, - Steven
