Jay and family, We are very sorry about your loss! I met Leslie in the line where you go early in the morning to sign up your kids for safety town. Then we met again early in the morning waiting to enroll in swim school at Waubonsee. Fast forward to a simple fender bender when one of our kids accidentally bumped her car at 95th and Book and she was so helpful and gracious about our mistake! We appreciate her leadership with PTA and other important community organizations! She will be missed! We are very sorry about your loss!

Dear Jay and family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Leslie was not a person to stand down in the face of adversity. She fiercely supported the goals and aspirations of those she loved. I can vividly remember how much she loved her family. She leaves behind a legacy, she leaves behind children who will carry forward her life's philosophy, her love for every day, and her desire to leave the world a better place. She learned that love from her mother Alice; another amazing woman and how blessed you are to have her. And Leslie passed that love to you. That is how she lives on in you and future generations. She has left you in the arms of a wonderful family to hear your tears and be there for you, although it isn't her... We are eternally grateful for the love she showed our boy Mitchell and you know he loved her so much he called her "Momma Leslie". Out of the mouths of babes comes truth. She lived her life giving of herself to others everyday. She lived her life to show you an example. She fought her health battle so hard because she loved YOU so much. Thank God she fought it with your help...your love. Ours lives are measured by who did we love, who did we help? By that measure, she was a wealthy woman! Her legacy is all the lives she's touched, with the most important being yours. Leslie will never be forgotten. Her life is honored by living your life in the bright light that you are, sharing your gifts with the world. When you dare to feel happy again, it will be her angel smiling down on you like a contagious giggle that can't be stopped.

I never met Leslie but felt that I knew the kind of woman she was through conversations with my husband, Dick O'Shanna. He spoke of her on many occasions, telling me what an extraordinary individual she was...driven, fun, athletic, beautiful, great mother, etc. I prayed for her often and thought of her often. Leslie was an extraordinary person who was passionate about her family, friends, and the causes she worked for and supported. It is truly difficult to loose such a beautiful woman, so full of life, but in pondering her selfless service, all she has done for the people she loved, her family, friends, and those causes she believed in, it is in celebration of a life lived joyfully and well, that we will fondly remember her.
