Dear Tom & Ellen,
I was looking for someone else's obituary and happened upon your mother's. What a wonderful way to grow up with such loving, fun-loving and prayerful parents! We offer our condolences and trust that God is keeping you and your family in His exquisite care as you grieve the loss of your mother. I also lost my father in January, so feel your loss in the truest sense of the word. We miss seeing all of you at LGCC and wish you the very best. It wasn't until we read the obit that we realized Sheila is your sister. Small world indeed. It sounds like you all have a marvelous saint in heaven already paving the way for you. God bless your family and we will remember your mother in our prayers.

Dear Tom, how blessed to have had your Mom for such a long time. My grandmother was Margaret Tully Cassidy and she also had a long and wonderful life (1869 - 1973). You and I spoke when I worked at Jenner & Block. We have now retired to the Fort Worth area. My Dad, Leo Cassidy, is still doing just great. He will be 93 in April and still living on his own. Our family is so fortunate. Peace to you and your family. Ken and Judy Bartels

Dear Marguerite: I was sad to learn of the passing of your beloved Mother. I was not fortunate to know her but the article in the Tribune certainly gave me a "snapshot" of what she was like - a very interesting, full of life, grand lady! I have no doubt that she will lose no time in setting up a card game in her new Heavenly Home! Love, Barbara

To all the Tully's:
Our prayers are with you from my whole family in Streator, IL who said "they were honored to know Delia Tully and thought very highly of her". As for I thanks to Ellen & Tom for letting me get to know her as I worked and took care of your whole family. The one thing I will never forget is when I was cleaning the kitchen in Calif. and she said "I'm going to make a man lucky some day to have me". Then Tom & Ellen Tully fixed me up with their nephew Mike and I married into a wonderful, loving family. Now I'm lucky.

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of your mom. Many Friday nights were spent in your basement in Chicago taking our dancing lessons back in the 60s. I remember your mom always smiling by the washing machine as we came in the back door.Thank you for great childhood memories.

Dear Tully family,
Like so many others, I was saddened, yet happy to hear of Aunt Delia finally going to heaven. What a wonderful life she has had.
I am Frank and Francie Sullivan's (O'Brien)' daughter. Aunt Delia was at all the family events. These past years, I've been telling my children some of the great stories that I have heard about her, my Grandma Margaret, and the rest of the family growing up in Ireland.
While its sad to see her go, I know she is in heaven having a grand ole time and chatting it up with everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Our sympathy and prayers go to each of you. Delia was always so pleasant and we enjoyed many conversations. Our daughter, Jennifer, liked coming to Delia's for lessons from Sheila. Delia always had a kind word for all. She will be missed, but special memories will keep her spirit alive. God's blessings to all. Wally and Pam Landers Wilk

To all the Tully Family,
Although we are far apart, we hold you close in our hearts.
Delia, was one in a million, we wish we could have said goodbye.
She always had a smile to share, time to give, and time to care.
She had a loving nature, and a heart of gold.
These are the memories we will hold forever, of the days when we were all together.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

Sheila and family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I was a student of yours in the mid 1960s and have the greatest memories of my lessons and competitions. I might have been one of your only Italian students at that time. Every St. Patricks day the precious memories are brought back like it was yesturday. However, I do not have one photo of any of it. That part always disappointed me. Thank you so much for being a wonderful part of my childhood memories. JoAnn Venditti Barcal

To all the Tully Family,
My heartfelt condolences to all of you on the death of your mother, Delia. What an inspiration she was to me and so many, many others.
I have so many fond memories of her. I was so happy to have been with her as we welcomed our cousins from Kilasser, Cloonlumney, Swinford, Co. Mayo, Thanksgiving weekend at Assumption Church in Chicago. I enjoyed many a cup of tea, a slice of soda bread and good conversation in her kitchen on Monitor. She was so proud of the booklet that told the story of her life from Kilasser to Chicago.
I am so sorry I can not be with you at this time. Please know that I am with you in spirit and you are in my prayers. I will celebrate Mass for her in our Servite Community on Friday in Berkeley, CA. God Bless, Fr. Michael Guimon, OSM

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Tully family. I have many fond memories of all of you and am grateful for them but, I must say, your mother(my aunt & godmother)Delia was at the center of each memory. The parties in the basement which flowed out to the backyard, staying overnight with Sheila, enjoying wonderful meals at a very long kitchen table, and getting to sit on the living room furniture (with the plastic covers)!
Thank you aunt Delia for your kindness. You will be missed.

A great lady has gone home to God and we are all saddened. How fortunate we are to have met her so recently in her own lovely home where she shared her photos of family and friends. The pride she took in each of you was so evident. We also recalled memories of trips back to Ireland and how exciting those days were for us and for her. Thank you to all the Tullys who made all that possible. We feel sure that there is a big ceili in Heaven tonight with Aunt Delia and Uncle Mike leading the dance.

To the whole Tully Family,

I am Dolores Kissane's daughter and have very vivid memories of Mrs. Tully standing at the washing machine in the Chicago bungalo collecting my $2 for Irish dance lessons. That was where I first met John Sherwood. Later I would become his friend. My mother married Tom's college roommate and my mom's best friend has a sister who is a Tully. So many connections. Your family is big and beautiful. God Bless you during this time. May Delia be at peace in Heaven.
