Holly, Thank you for letting us know of Lane's passing. We went to Lakeview together. His dad was my grandfather's brother. He was so very generous with our family, sharing his geneology information at his own cost. God bless you and yours as you deal with your loss. Death for the Christian is never Goodbye, only Farewell!

Holly, my deepest sympathy to you on your loss. While I never met Lane, my grandmother, Elizabeth Hotwick, had a brother, Leo Hotwick, who was married to Lucille Trueblood. My genealogical information on the Truebloods came from Lane and his genealogy on line. God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow, and know he brought light and life to all.

Holly and Family,
May God Bless all of you in this time of sorrow! I want to let you know I will miss Lane very much, I don't know if Lane knew how much help he was to me while I was Commander of Camp Douglas Memorial SCV but I believe some of the things the Camp had accomplished was due to Lanes dedication to what he believed in! I hope to keep in touch with you and please feel free to attend all our events. Jim Wilson and Family

I was saddened to hear of Lane's death. We were cousins without a connection; we last saw each other when I was about 11-12. Even though we were not close, I will miss him.

Holly, thank you so much for letting me know about Lane. I am so thankful to him for helping me with my Henderson Line. If it weren't for him I would probably never have connected the missing links. I wish I had written more, but I got off on other links in both my lines and my husbands lines. I'll always remember what a help Lane was to me. I will cherish the book he sent me and the photos of him with you and your daughter at her wedding. My love and prayers are with you. Love, Lois

The short time we spent as SCV brothers, Lane was well liked, He would tell great stories about his Civil War Ancestors. We were just beginning to piece together a SCV newspaper that Jim Wilson, Lane and I had many new ideas. Lane will be truly missed by all who new him.

So long, Cousin.
You were my primary source of so much genealogical information and historical background.
Were it not for you, I would never know of my Scottish heritage, and would never have received the high honor of being named the bard for our clan.
Holly, you and your daughters have my deepest sympathy.

Holly, Debbie and Laurie,
This will be one of the hardest tragedies you will ever deal with in your lifetimes. Please remember all of the years God gave you to be together and smile. Lane would have wanted it that way. Dwelling on what might have been causes hurt and pain.He will be always in our hearts.
With Sympathy and Empathy,
Lori Christison, Ryanne and Adam Leslie.

On behalf of Camp 1507 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, I think I can say that we are all stunned and saddened by the death of our friend and compatriot. Lane will be greatly missed, and our meetings won't be the same without his wit and wisdom. May God bless and keep the Trueblood family in their hour of grief.

We are all called in our turn,
Some early, and some late.
Your job here was done,
So He called you Home.
When we are done and get the call,
We shall meet again.
Until then,
REST IN PEACE - DEAR FRIEND.
