Kathleen Thomas Brown, 72, of Avoca, she passed away peacefully in her family home surrounded by her family, on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024.
She was born in Avoca, April 21, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Martin "Haskell" and Catherine Clifford Thomas.
Kathy was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1970. She worked for many local area businesses throughout her life and retired from MTF in Jessup.
She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, finding her greatest joy in their happiness and love. A warm and welcoming presence, she cherished movie night and dinners at Longhorn Steakhouse with her brothers and sisters-in-law. Her beautiful and welcoming smile had a way of making everyone feel at ease, helping her connect effortlessly with all who crossed her path.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother James "Tinker" Thomas.
Kathy is survived by her children, Erica Brown and her husband Jorge Neyra, Germantown, Md.; William Brown and his wife, Jamie, Archbald; Keith Brown, Pittston; and Scott Brown and his wife, Missi, Rochester, N.H.; grandchildren, Sebastian and Olivia Neyra, Caleb Brown, Jayden, McKenna and Emily Brown; brother, Martin Thomas and his wife, Mari, Scranton; sister-in-law, Rosie Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart and Lela for their compassionate care, making her final days peaceful and full of comfort.
Funeral services for Kathy will be held by her family members at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Friends may call for visitation from 4 p.m. to service time.
