Dear Madge and Girls,
As much as I thought of Odell, I was sure I had entered my thought here, and find now that I have been remiss.
I was blessed to know Odell for the last eleven years that he was with us here. He was such a true friend, an example of kindness to many, and a rare gift to our community and beyond.
I think of you all often, and pray that you are comforted in knowing that he is in heaven.
Love to you all.

Mr. Baker and his family have been special friends of my family, the Grogans, for over 40 years. Mr. Odell was a fine Christian man and an outstanding citizen. I took my oldest son to Mr. Baker's store when it was time for Eric to register to vote. He thought it strange at first, but he understood after I explained Mr. Baker's one-man voter registration campaign. I will not forget that day.
My love and prayers are sent out for Miss Madge, Janis, Cathy, Lisa, and Philip's family. We rejoice that Mr. Baker is now with Jesus.

My family thought so much of Mr.Baker. He was a friend of my father's for years. He helped us with my first mattress in college in '86, and many through the years, as recent as this past Dec. Also a patient at West, my husband enjoyed his happy spirit when they saw each other there. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

This is a poem I wrote last summer, in thinking of Dad's illness:
"I can't wait to live in the sky,
in the good ole sweet bye and bye.
No more worries there, cares, or frets,
All my needs will surely be met.
Beautiful gardens full of blooms --
Indeed there is no more room!
Loved ones who have gone on before will surely greet us at the door!"
We'll miss you Dad --you were the greatest! Can't wait to see you! I'm building our mansion up there!
Love always, Cathy

Mr. Baker helped my husband and me last year right after I came home from the hospital. He delievered a matress to our house himself. He knew my family from Temple Baptist Church. Our prayers are with your family.

My deepest sympathy to Madge and Cathy. I remember our vist with the Baker family years ago, and we felt so at home (my dad Gene Burns and I). Odell was a sweet generous man! May God's love keep you and continue to guide you. Fondly, Patty

My family loved Mr. Baker. We bought product from him and he was always honest, smiling, and full of energy. He was even patient as our children checked out everything in the store. He gave to so many. What a delightful man! He will be missed. Our sympathy and prayers are with his family.

IT WAS A PLEASURE KNOWING MR. BAKER, HE COULD ALWAYS BE COUNTED ON TO DONATE SOMETHING TO THE LADIES OF ZAMAN GROTTO, WHEN THEY WERE HAVING A FUND RAISER.
