Please accept our condolences for your loss. Lee and I were best of friends in high school and in college. Bob O'Donnell, Joe Higgins and I were unable to convince Lee to join the Coast Guard with us and he elected to serve in Vietnam with honor. I will truly miss him.

Rolando, I met your brother, Lee, a few years back at one of the First Cavalry reunions in Ft. Hood, Texas. Like you, I found him to be affable and a gentleman. He like many, was a true American hero, who served his county in Vietnam, and will be missed. God bless him and may the good Lord keep him in His bosom.

Farewell old friend,
I shall miss you terribly.
Your sudden departure from all of us was a painful one, but one day we will be able to trade the tears and sadness for smiles and happiness when we all rejoin you. May God watch over your family and loved ones until that time comes.
We played many a game of cards at Camp Evans and spent many hours talking about home and better things to come.
We were just two of the many old troopers who answered the call and never hesitated to do what was asked of us, hoping only for a better world and brighter future for all.
But now the time has come for another old trooper to take his post at the pearly gates for sentinel duty.
I hope to see you again one day when my turn comes for guard mount.
Your friend,
(former C Trooper 1/9 Cav)
