To my Best friend Guay(Darryl), Whom I've known for over 25 years.I Lost a very dear and irreplaceable friend! We were like brothers..Darryl and I were always there for each other. Darryl was enthusiastic,driven,resilient,caring,thoughtful,courageous,generous and so much more! He never gave up and didn't ever display defeat!
We shared so many wonderful times: sports,vacations,all the times over @ your house!!!!!!!!!, Mom's cooking!!-the best around! An occassional cigar and other celebrations and holidays-We did it all!!!!!!! Thanks for being an awesome friend! Until I see you again "Keep it going-my friend"

Darryl, You were a "Gift from God" you taught me to live,laugh,love and enjoy each day. Thanks for touching my life in so many wonderful ways!

Dear Mrs. Didier and Brenda and all of Darryl's friends:
I heard from my folks that Darryl passed away. They've kept me posted on all of his accomplishments over the years. I recognize his father's influence in those accomplishments as well. I've been thinking about the span of Darryl's influence on the world and realized it's been with him all his life. I met most of the kids in the neighborhood through Darryl. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Darryl was one of our favorite people.
What we admired about Darryl was his tenacity and heart. We were always pleased to see Darryl and have him in our home. Darryl was one of best influences and friend to our son Chris. We were very proud of darryl and he will be missed dearly.

Darryl Didier is my friend!
Ive known you 27 years, thats most of my life. In all those years i never heard him complain about anything, not when he got sick, not all those years of recovery. Most people say why me? why me? Darryl never came close to that. He said what can i do to help others? He did help make the human condition better, for all! that truly is a remarkable accomplishent. I have never known a stronger person spirtually, mentally or physically. I will miss you Darryl, and know that you will always be pushing me to be a better person. thanks for being my friend.

While I was driving home the other day, I was trying to think of what to say about Darryl. In my childhood, he was just Brenda's little brother. I wouldn't say I knew him that well, but even then he had such a strong sense of himself. I only saw him once after we moved away -- at my dad's wake and funeral. Darryl was one of the first (if not the first) to get up and speak, and he was so eloquent about my dad and his own struggles with cancer, I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. I was blown away. I couldn't believe the cocky kid had turned into such a confident and beautifully positive man! We would get updates from Chris about all of you, and of course, I felt terrible when the news wasn't good. From all of the testimonials, I know Darryl's courage and positive outlook has affected so many people. I hope that is a great comfort, as it was for me when my family members died. He was very special, and I can only imagine how much you will miss him. Just know that I am thinking about you, Brenda and Mrs. Didier.

I didn't know Darryly personally. But his experience was truly inspiring. He was somebody you would want as a friend.

We don't know Mr. Didier or his family, but he sounds like he was someone you wanted as a good friend.
Our families prayers are with the Didier family during this time of loss. We have always taken comfort in this verse:
"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." -Psalm 147:3

It was a very sad day when I found out that Darryl had lost his recent battle with cancer he was a inspiration and I will be missed by many. While I did not know him well our many encounters at Bally's Fitness gave me a sense of his overwhelming sense of purpose. My deepest sympathy to Brenda and Mrs. Didier. Please have some comfort that your son and brother touched many lives for the positive during his short time on this planet. We lost a soldier but God gaining a officer.

We were so very sad to learn of Darryl's passing. My kids and I gave Darryl a ride to CCD every Wednesday afternoon. (Darry and I both taught at Holy Cross) I remember when the Religious Education office called to ask me if I would be able to give another teacher a ride to class on Wednesday afternoons - she had noticed that we both lived in Lincolnshire. I agreed to the carpool - but as a busy mother of three I'm ashamed to admit that part of me thought - one more thing to do. Darryl turned out to be such a wonderful gift in our lives. My kids bonded with him instantly. He was always in a great mood and he never let anything get him down. We truly looked forward to our Wednesday afternoon car rides. Darryl was a friend, an inspiration and a mentor for my kids. Our prayers and thoughts are with your family. This world will miss such a beautiful, happy, positive person.

He has always been such a wonderful friend. We have shared many smiles, laughs and tears over the past 25 years. I will miss him dearly.

When I received word of Darryl from Chris I was in disbelief. I am grateful that I was able to visit with him years back and will remember the good times we all shared in Linconlshire. I think of Darryl as a great family friend and we will miss him.

Dear Mrs. Didier, Brenda, and Chris.
It came as a sad day when I heard that Darryl had passed. I have to chuckle just thinking back on all of the time we kids spent together playing outside growing up in Lincolnshire. I will also remember Darryl for being so incredibly positive after his surgery. He always asked about how others were doing during our numerous talks while he was out walking in the neighborhood. Talking to him was a such an inspiration. I have ordered a copy of his book and will remember him always. May our thoughts and prayers be with you always.

Dear Mrs. Didier and Brenda,
Darryl, even though I knew him for a short time, was instantly my friend. He had no judgement, no hatred, and no badness in his heart. This is a rare thing and that it why Darryl has always been in my heart since I met him. I was very sad to hear he was gone and cried a very long time. Just remember, he's not really gone if we keep him in our hearts. I will be in touch soon.

To the Didier family,
Darryl touched our family's life at Holy Cross church when our son was battling cancer. Luke looked forward to seeing Darryl on Sunday when they would laugh and talk after mass. Darryl was not afraid to reach out and show true compassion to others who were suffering. We will miss him.

You are all very much in my thoughts and prayers. Mindy and I have spent so much time in the last couple of days speaking of Darryl. I have a wonderful memory of the last time I saw him and spent time with him at Kiawah Island. Darryl was a very special person, full of life and humor and now all the best qualities that he had will live on in our hearts. I am so very sorry I can't be there but please know that Staff, Summer, and I have you all in our thoughts and prayers. We have a special angel in heaven now looking over us.
