Alan Bingel Obituary

Alan C. Bingel Family and friends of Alan C. Bingel, of Derry, N.H., are gathering from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Shepherd's Funeral Home in Hendersonville, N.C., to celebrate his life. Alan was born Oct. 22, 1949, and died suddenly Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H., with family present. Alan was born in Chicago, but grew up in the northwest suburbs. He graduated from Wheeling High School. He held an honorable discharge from the Army. He worked for Motorola and then moved to North Carolina in the field of communication. Alan loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating. His two outdoor companions were his dogs, Jack and Bailey. He was a loving and kind husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of many years, Katy; his son, Chris Bingel; his daughter, Jennifer Bingel; his sisters, Karen (Cary) Pressney and Carolyn Lee (Patrick) Simmons; nieces, Michelle (Dave) Cashmore, Beth (Scott) Epstein, Sandra Lee (Mike) Dorenski and Sheryl Bjornson; and nephews, Mark (Mary) Schorr and Michael Schorr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy C. Bingel and Adeline Jacobson Bingel; and his brother, Edwin J. Nelson. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
