Barb and I shared a love of gardening and she bought some of my Blue Skies Asters at one of the Relay for Life plant sales at the library. I hope the asters are still blooming and will be a reminder of Barb and all the things she loved.

Barb was my supervisor at my first job at the DPPL, as well as a friend. I will always remember her as a warm, supportive, caring supervisor and a great lunch companion as well. She showed great interest in my children's lives as well, which was very appreciated. She will truly be missed.

My husband and I met through the Des Plaines Public Library, and Barb was our boss. She was always so supportive of us. I'm so sad that she's left us, but I know that she'll be watching over her family.

We are so sorry to learn of Barb's passing. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to have known her. Regretfully, we are out of town and will not be able to say goodbye at the service but our thoughts and prayers are with Barb and the Saletnik family.

Both Don and I are so sorry to learn of Barb's passing.
She was a great lady, wonderful mother, loving wife and caring friend.
Having recently watch my 42 years old sister loose her battle with cancer I can relate to what Paul, Jessica, Josh and the rest of her family are feeling right now.
It is sad to know that Barb will no longer laugh with us or walk among us, but she has a much better Companion in Jesus.

I have a lot of fond memories of working with Barb, she will be greatly missed by all, I have been praying for her for over a year ever since I found out how sick she was.
this is a great loss to the des plaines library, she was a great asset to the library, and she taught me how to work with the shelvers before I retired.

I have only known the Saletnik family for a brief time, but I have learned enough to know that Barbara has always been an angel, and will forever be an angel. She touched countless lives and will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to her family.
