I began cutting Henry's hair about 15 years ago. Each time he sat in my chair, he argued and "picked" on me about "everything". I throughly enjoyed the bantering back and forth and gave as good as I got. One day, I nicked his ear with the clippers. He didn't say anything, he just let me carry on about the fact that I never nicked anyone. It seemed like it became a tradition and from then on, I always nicked him in the same spot. One day last year, he came casually through the salon door, with DUCT TAPE layed perfectly across the top of his ears, hopefully proventing the inevitable "nick"! I couldn't stop laughing as he announced that he was just trying to protect his self! From that day forward, I never nicked him again! I will miss Henry and his wonderful wit. The teasing and laughing we shared is a beautiful memory for me. Henry leaves behind a great legacy with his family and his friends. I will always cherish the laughter we shared, the plants we traded off and the time he told me that he knew he didn't get a real good haircut unless he bled!

Dear Audrey, Karen, Sherry, Kenny and all the grandchildren: I want you to know how much Henry meant to me and how much he will be missed. Out of all my mother's neighbors, he was my favorite. He always had a smile for me and could pick up my spirits no matter what I was going through. My own father has been gone for 22 years, and I could always count on Henry to look out for my mom . She will miss him greatly too. I feel blessed to have known him and to have had him for a friend and neighbor. The neighborhood will not be the same without him.

Love,

Anna Marie Fleming
