Queen Gwaltney Obituary
A native of Surry County, she was a former member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Young Gwaltney, Queen is survived by her father, Curtis Gwaltney of Dendron; two daughters, Vicki Croker of Ivor and Katina Parker of Zuni; two sons, Sam Gwaltney and Biko Gwaltney of Washington, D.C.; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Cooper (John) of Maryland, Ida Gwaltney of Washington, D.C., and Gloria Gwaltney of Prince George, Va.; four brothers, Sterling Gwaltney of Dendron, Louis Gwaltney of Surry, Horace Gwaltney (Sherry) of Washington, D.C., and Earl Gwaltney (Stacy) of Wakefield; a devoted friend, Charles Ellis of Wakefield; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held noon Saturday, Aug. 16, at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church with Dr. Daniel Baltimore officiating. Interment will be in Booker T. Memorial Cemetery, Wakefield. Viewing 6 to 9 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

AS WE LOOK AT THE SIGNS ALL AROUND US
THERES ONE THING WE KNOW FOR SURE,
JESUS IS PREPARING HIS COMMING
TO TAKE US TO THAT BEAUTIFUL SHORE.
UP THERE WE WILL JOIN WITH OUR LOVED ONES
WHO HAS LEFT US AND GONE ON BEFORE.
THEY ARE NOW REJOICING IN HEAVEN UP THERE
AND THEIR HEARTACHES THEY WONT HAVE ANYMORE.
THEY ARE WORKING TOGETHER WITH JESUS NOW
FOR WHEN THE RAPTURE SHALL TAKE PLACE,

ITS A HOME OF MILK AND HONEY
