Bettie and I were employed at the same agency, but we did not work together. We were both members of the local chapter of Federally Employed Women. She lived close to the facility, and sometimes after meetings I would drop her off at home. We talked like old friends. Bettie was a trooper, and always offered help in any way that she could. Although she struggled with illness, she would not quit, preferring instead to maintain her viability. Family members, my prayers go to you during your hour of bereavement. God will take care.

So sorry that due to illness, as our Heavenly Father knows and cares about, I was unable to attend my sister, Betty's funeral. God knows our hearts by our walk, not by our speech for He has said, "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God." Betty exemplified a Christ-like spirit by her walk, her actions and the love she had for others. She SHOWED her love. that's why I know one day I will see and dwell with her again." No, It's not an easy road to travel but with God's mercy, grace and the power of His precious blood covering me, like Betty, I and all God's children, will make it also. Betty is a perfect example that we who are truly His can make it. Know that and Just keep the faith, no matter how people treat you or what they say or do, know that GOD will see you through. Just trust Him.

Sometimes you don't have the words to say when it is someone close to you. Ms. Bettie was like my second mom and really loved her. Sheron was big sister when i needed her to be and Lemar was my little brother. I will miss her very much. My prayers and love are with you. If you need anything call me and let me know. I love you Sheron and Lemar.

When Bettie came to the New Orleans area in the early 80's, she came as my new boss. The section head in the Accounting Department of the United States Department of Agriculture. She became more than my supervisor, because I found her to not only be highly intellegent in accounting concepts, I also found her to be a child of the Most High GOD. Not only in her words but in her deeds. Although, I left the department in 1984 our friendship still remained strong. She was the godmother of my youngest child, Elyana. The song writer wrote, be not dismayed whatever be the tide, GOD will take care of you. To the Hooper and Mills families, our prayer is that you be strong in the LORD and in the power of his might. LeMar and Sheron remember all the joy she brought into your life and the lessons on how to live victoriously. The Davis Family in New Orleans will never forget her and the joy she brought into our lives.
