Bettie Shinn Obituary
Survivors include her husband, Charles W. Shinn; a daughter, Deborah D. Snead of Carrollton; a son, Charles W. (Dean) Shinn Jr. of Carrollton; a sister, Delores D. Dalin of Hampton; a brother, William C. Thomas Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Kimberly and her husband, Jeff Richey and Christopher William Snead.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept, 1, 2008, in Parklawn Memorial Park with the Rev. M. Darren Anderson and the Rev. John H. Knibb Jr., officiating.
The family will be at home and they invite friends to also pay their respects today, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown, Hampton. They express their special thanks to all who provided help during Bettie's illness, including Personal Touch Hospice Care.

Charlie, Debbie & Dean - Bettie was always one of my favorite people and I'm so sorry for your loss. Cindy and I were just talking about her the other day - how she and Dee Dee helped make Cindy & Rob's wedding (over 30 years ago!) such a great day. I have MANY happy memories of our families getting together over the years. Much love to you - always.
