I am sadden an shocked from the news of Keshia's death. Both Keshia and Donya were childhood friends of me, my sisters Valerie and Onneica Blakeney, and plenty other girls at the Girls Club in Hampton. Keisha was a joy to be around and will truly be missed. May GOD continue to be with you all. Remember that smile of hers!!!

To the family,
Keshia is a childhood friend of mine. She along with Donya, my sister Cha-Cha, and Nicky were posse :-D. When the phone calls came in informing me of Keshia's passing I was shocked, then saddened. Saddened for her children and family left to mourn her death. I attended the viewing and the funeral and became very concerned about Donya and her absence. My sister and I and Nicky all discussed how Keshia's passing probably weighed on Donya and tried to place orselves in her situation being that we all have older or younger sisters. I was able to see Donya before I had to travel back to NC.
My prayers are with the family today, tomorrow and for years to come. No, we do not see or speak often due to the norms of life but you never forget your grassroot friends and that is what Keshia is/was and will always be along with Donya. Kim and Crystal were always there also they were just so much younger than us. You all are like famiy and even though years pass my love and concern remains the same.
Donya, we tried to exchange no. after the funeral but a lot was going on so I want to leave it with you again. 910-995-6421 and my email is [email protected], I want to hear from you. I love you and care about how you are doing in this time of loss. Give me a call.
Just remember, God is Good all the time!!!!! You are continuously in my prayes and I love you all!!!!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To Mr and Mrs Johnson, Donya, and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss and I cannot imagine the pain you're feeling right now. Keshia was my first friend in Virginia. We were like sisters back in school. Even though, we didn't see each other as much as before, she always held a special place in my heart and I loved her.

Dear Montrose, Larry, Girls, and Children,
I came back from early morning prayer today and found a Daily Press in my yard and when I opend it I was in shock to see the beautiful picture of Keisha. I have known Keisha since she was a little girl. Danyelle and Scherra grew up with Keisha, Kim, Crystal, and Donya and thru the years we have spent a lot of precious moments together. I feel so much sorrow in my heart but at the same time I know what the WORD says. Sorrow only endures for a night, for joy comes in the morning. Remember what Jesus said for it is the Word of God: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me."
"In My Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you."
"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back
and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am."
(John 14:1-3 NIV)
If you need me for anything please call me. I love you Montrose!
Yours in Christ,
Scherry Meinhardt
