Lila Kaufelt Obituary
Born in Hampton, she had spent most of her life on the Peninsula, where she retired from Civil Service after many years as a telephone operator .
Mrs. Kaufelt was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Kaufelt Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Stine of Richmond and Carolynn Attia of Chesapeake; a brother, Dewey E. Thomas Jr. of Newport News; two sisters, Emogene Keenan of Alabama and Billie Sue Phelps of Williamsburg; three grandchildren, Richard Thomas Stine, and Jack and Jason Attia; and two great-grandchildren, Elijah Thomas Stine and Asher Brown Jaffe.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, by Dr. Furman Kenney, at Peninsula Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 6315 North Center Dr., Suite 233, Norfolk, VA. 23502.
