When Shirley moved to Hampton, we became more like sisters. Her mother and my father were first cousins. I had one brother and she had two. We were in grammer school together until I moved to Maryland. I returned in the seventh grade and left again when we were almost through the ninth grade. Those were such exciting years; dance parties at school, group dating, church activities, playing in the band, and just hanging out together. I moved to Georgia and never went back so missed the years of rearing children. I wish I could have been part of that also. Did get to know Tommie when he came to Georgia to go to school. It was so good to reconnect at the Pearce reunions. We missed her this year but did see all her boys and wives. She fought a courageous battle with the diabetes and kidney failure. I will keep her in my memory. I loved her.

Duane and Family,
I just want to express my sympathy - I am so sorry - I didn't know your mother but I know what a loss it is - I am still trying to deal with my mother's death in March. I will be praying for all of you.
