Beatrice Squires Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Beatrice E. Squires, 96, passed away at York Convalescent Center on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008.
Beatrice was a native of White Springs, Fla., and a resident of Newport News for over 60 years. She retired in 1973 from Montgomery Ward, after 30 years of service as a sales clerk. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Newport News.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Hubert Squires, and her five siblings.
She is survived by her son, Hubert Michael Squires and his wife, Mary Jane; granddaughter, Kimberly McMahan and husband, Jeff; granddaughter, Jill; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., followed by funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Paul C. Lawson, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
