George Bernard Werle

WILLIAMSBURG - George Bernard Werle, of Williamsburg, Va.,, died on Saturday, Sept. 13, after a courageous battle with cancer.
George was the first of six children born in Washington D.C. to Francis and Evelyn Werle. He attended St. John's Military High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy before his graduation from Georgetown University. He worked for the CIA and later joined Moore Business Forms, Inc., where he advanced to U.S. Sales Manager. When he retired from Moore after 38 years, George founded Community "ID" Logos Inc., a promotional sales company he operated until his death. He was a long-time Maryland resident who relocated to Chicago, Ill., and Dallas, Texas, before settling in Virginia. George was a giver, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, whose compassion, humor, and wisdom will be deeply missed by his large, extended family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Terri Anne Werle of Williamsburg, Va.; and their daughter, Rebecca Paige Werle of Williamsburg, Va. He also leaves to mourn seven children from his first marriage, Stephen Werle of Rohnert Park, Calif., Francis Werle of Columbia, Md., Thomas Werle of Wellington, Fla., Suzan Falls of Ellicott City, Md., Kathleen Mellott of Highland Md., Karen Berger of Columbia, Md., and Joanne Sawyer of Annapolis, Md. He was a cherished grandfather to twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a loving brother to Mary Anne Long of Bowie, Md., Charles Werle of Selbyville, Del., Dr. Michael Werle of West Hartford, Conn., and Brother Robert Werle FSC of Memphis, Tenn. His brother, David Werle, is deceased.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 19, at St. Bede's Church (3686 Ironbound Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188) and will be followed by funeral mass at noon.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at St. Anthony's Church,1029 Monroe Street, N.E., Washington, D.C.
