Robert Davies Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Robert M. Davies, 75, affectionately known as 'Uncle Bob', lost his courageous battle for life on Sept. 15, at Sentara Williamsburg Hospital.
Bob was born in 1933 and raised in San Leandro, Calif. He attended California College of Arts, Ventura College, and the University of California-Santa Barbara.
Bob spent three years serving his country as a military photographer in the Signal Corps for the Stars and Stripes Newspaper.
He then went on to become an accomplished artist with a multitude of paintings to his credit. Bob won many awards for his paintings over the years.
Bob will best be remembered for his love of life, quick wit, and never-ending jokes that brought a smile to everyone's face.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Loretta; children, Beverly Mes (Servaas), Donna Stevens (Michael), Erica Vassallo (Joe), Dan Felice, Anneliese Paul, and Christopher Davies; grandchildren, Travis and Madelyn MacDonald, Matthew and Julie Stevens, Marielena and Meg Vassallo, Elaina Felice, and Kenny, Caitlin and Ben Paul; his brother, John Davies (Marie); and nephew and nieces, Scott, Ciera and Tracy.
A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 20, at Bucktrout Funeral Home, Ironbound Road, Williamsburg.
A special thanks to all of his longtime caregivers (especially Jim and Heather). Thanks also to his many friends who helped him through his courageous battle with illness.
Bob lives on in all of us whenever we hear the words, 'let me tell you a joke' or 'that reminds me of a story.' View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.
