I also served with SSG Johnson in the 18th Field Hospital. One of my strongest memories is when we drove together to two weeks of training at Ft Gordon, GA in 1994 (or maybe it was 1993). He had worked and stayed up all night before we left, so instead of helping with the driving on the way to Georgia, he slept (and snored) all the way. However, after we had survived the Georgai heat and humidity, he drove most of the way back to Newport News. I will miss him, and keep your family in my prayers. (LTC) Katie Young

Garnell and I were in 18th Field Hospital together back in 2003. He was a great leader and a good friend. He truly will be missed. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.
