Sallie Feldman Obituary
She was a long time resident of Charlottesville, Virginia, where she spent many years as a NICU nurse at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Sallie enjoyed gardening, golf, reading, being with her pets, and spending time with her three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Philip Feldman.
Sallie is survived by six siblings; one daughter, Katharine Bond and her husband, Mark, of Mechanicsville, Virginia; one son, Stephen Turner of Vineland, New Jersey; three grandchildren, Connor, Parker, and Morgan Bond, all of Mechanicsville, Virginia; many friends she considered family; and a menagerie of pets.
Sallie's family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for Sallie during her stay in the Critical Care Unit at Memorial Regional Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at the Woody Funeral Home-Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. Sallie's ashes will be scattered according to her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Action In Reading Program, c/o Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1500 East Rio Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901.

Dear Katherine and family, I wanted you to know how very sorry I was to hear of your mom's passing.I worked with your mom years ago with Dr. Taylor. Dear Katharine,
Our deepest thoughts and prayers are sent to you and your family on the tragic loss of your mother. Sallie was one of those rare and precious people, who by their presence, make this world a better place. She was so very proud of her family and loved her grandchildren with a passion. One of our last conversations, shortly before her death, was about her new home and being nearer to you and your family. She was greatly loved by my mother,Mildred Feldman, who considered her a daughter. Sallie's Friday evening calls wishing my mother Shabbat Shalom were treasured and so appreciated. Your mother was truly a special and beautiful person and will be greatly missed. May her memory be a blessing to you and your family.

Sallie was a coworker in the UVA NICU for several years. She was a valued colleague to the nursing staff. Sallie was an excellent nurse and strong patient advocate. She showed genuine love and concern for the infants in the NICU. All of us in the NICU who remember Sally were saddened to learn of her death.

Dear Katharine,
I am so very sorry for the un-timely passing of your mom. Auntie sally was a part of our family for more than 20 years. I will always keep fond memories of our first encounters as children when my uncle Phil had me come to Virginia to meet his new wife Sally & her great kid Katharine. She always treated me with love. I will also be grateful to her for the gross amount of emotional support and generosity during my pregnancy with Samantha. She called me several times a week to see how I was & always had sound advice. I will also never forget the endless months your mom spent in Florida with me, my mom, my sister and Uncle Phil during the lengthy illness of my grandfather Sam Feldman. She helped my grandfather and the family in ways that go beyond the expression of words.
