Kenneth W. Borland Sr.

Kenneth W. Borland, age 81, of Girard and Port Charlotte, Fla., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, July 26, 2015.

He was born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, on October 4, 1933, a son of the late John and Leora Cross Borland.

After graduation from Albion High School, he entered the United States Navy, as a radio operator. Kenny graduated from Penn State Behrend with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and went on to work as an Industrial Engineer at Zurns. He also worked at Marx and Bucyrus Erie.

Kenny enjoyed fishing, Ham Radio and following the Cleveland Indians. He was a member at Girard Alliance Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher, youth leader and Sunday School superintendent.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters: Dorothy McFarland, Martha Borland, Helen Borland, Esther Borland and Ruth Borland; and two brothers: Earl and John Borland.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janice Payne Borland; a son, Kenneth Borland and his wife Linda; and a daughter, Dannetta Getz and her husband Michael; and three grandchildren: Danielle and Kenny Getz and Kayla Borland. He is further survived by a sister, Nora Knorr.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, in Girard, on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m., and are invited to a funeral service at Girard Alliance Church, 229 Rice Avenue, at 11 a.m., with Reverend Clyde Davis officiating. Private burial will be at Girard Cemetery.
