James Hyde Obituary

James Lee Hyde Sr., 68, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., passed away October 6, 2015, in his home, after an eight-month battle with cancer. He was born on June 8, 1947, in Meadville, Pa., to Wallace Hyde Jr. and the late Doris Carr Hyde.

He married "Ann" Jill Hyde on November 8, 1985 who remained by his side in every venture and move.

James is also survived by five children – Stacy Hyde (Channing), James Hyde Jr. (Michelle), Justin Hyde, Kerry Richard and Dave Richard; two grandchildren – Millington Adkins Jr (Brittany) and Cory Marcotte; two great-grandchildren – Parker and Mav; three sisters – Carol Pittsenbarger (Paul), Phyllis Rocco and Joetta Payne (Roger); several nieces and nephews; and many loved relatives.

James owned and operated Hyde's Asphalt and was determined to always work hard. He was a brother in the Western Crawford Lodge 258 Mason. Some of his proudest memories were of playing football at Conneaut Valley High School and his time as a Buck Sergeant in the US Army. A handwritten note in James's wallet stated "Growing up in Springboro is the best experience that I could have ever had." James leaves a legacy of finding a friend in everyone he met.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate James's life on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 12:00 at the Springboro Baseball Field on Beaver Street, which will include words of honor followed by a baseball game and food, celebrating life in a Jim Hyde way.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donation be made to Broward House Browardhouse.org" target="_blank">(Browardhouse.org or 1726 SE 3rd Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316). His daughter Stacy works there and the donations will be used to support activities to bring fun and joy to clients.

Your love for life and your family is a true inspiration to all the family and friends that were fortunate to have been in your life time! Thank you ! Thank you for all the childhood memories, the back yard softball games, the skate board hill, racing the neighhood kids in the back yard, wagon rides, and hand springs galore! Your laughs and love for your neighborhood will always have a special place in my heart! Rest in Peace. Love to all of your family!

So very sorry for your loss. I couldn't agree with your dad more. Growing up in Springboro taught us the value of family, friends and hard work. I rather love our little corner of the world,"where everybody knows your name!" Hugs and prayers during this difficult time.
