Roy H. Huston

Roy H. Huston, 87, of Albion, Pa., passed away unexpectedly, at St. Vincent Health Center ER, in Erie, Pa., on Sunday evening, October 2, 2016. He was born on April 23, 1929, in Conneaut, Ohio, and was the son of Carl and Gladys (Retan) Huston.

A lifelong area resident, Roy graduated from Rowe High School, and was self-employed as builder. He also worked on his dairy farm.

Roy was an active member of State Line United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee, on church council, taught Sunday School, and was a youth group leader. As a member of Men for Mission, he went on mission trips to Honduras, Peru, Redbird, Ky., and Oklahoma. He was a board member of W.L.D. Ranch and constructed buildings there and also at the Albion Fair, as well as assisting other area churches with building projects. He enjoyed dairy farming and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife Alice (Blood) Huston, whom he married May 21, 1955; his daughter Amy (Craig) Light of Albion, Pa.; his brother Clyde Huston of Ashtabula, Ohio; and nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Philip Huston; a brother Dalton Huston; and sisters Dorothy Herrick and Mary Cole.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2016, at the State Line United Methodist Church, 7321 Bushnell Rd., Conneaut, Ohio, with family friend, Rev. Larry Carr officiating, assisted by Pastor Terri Simpson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.

Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2016, at State Line United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made in Roy's name to State Line United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the church or at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, where arrangements have been entrusted.
